Individual Therapy

At various times in our lives we all end up feeling sad, angry, anxious, or lost. Sometimes we end up in unhealthy patterns: doubting our self-worth, obsessing about the past or the future, lashing out at others, or isolating ourselves. So many of our unhelpful behaviors protect us in the short-term, but leave long-term costs. The core of my training has been to meet you where you are--mentally and emotionally--and help you find effective techniques to overcome adversity, feel better, and move on with your life.  I provide help with these and other issues through talk therapy.

Talk therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a process by which a person addresses and resolves their emotional problems.  Talk therapy gets its name from the treatment process, which is usually a structured conversation (talking!) between a therapist and a client.  Talk therapy has been around for over a hundred years and has grown from an art to an evidence-based practice that has allowed millions of people to overcome depression and anxiety, resolve painful past experiences, improve their interpersonal relationships, and change self-destructive patterns.  My clients range from adults to children as young as six years old, across a wide variety of races, genders, religions, and sexual orientations.
