Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most tried and tested therapies in America. CBT focuses on the unhealthy ways in which we think (our cognitions) and act (our behaviors). CBT is a teaching treatment, allowing clients to carry the skills learned into the future, long after therapy has ended. CBT is highly structured, with average treatment duration being three months to one year. The average CBT session lasts 45-55 minutes, with sessions once a week.
CBT has been proven effective in treating:
Depression
Anxiety
Traumas and Abuse (including PTSD)
Phobias
Stress and Adjustment Disorders
Relationship Issues
Non-Organic Insomnia
